Shortly after the CEO of UnitedHealthCare was shot and killed I was listening to Jon Stewart from The Daily Show, he said that now is not the time for violence and if you feel like you need to write a manifesto, start a podcast first. So we decided to start a podcast. I don’t like violence, I am a firm believer in the Radical Love approach of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

I’m Justin and with me is my friend Al. We’ll have a rotating chair of hosts and guests. The show is called Crying is a Free Action. The name is based on types of actions a character can take in Dungeons & Dragons. A free action is usually used to warn an ally or taunt an opponent. In our case, with the state of things, always remember, Crying is a Free Action. You can do it at work, or on the toilet, I like to do it in the shower.

We cover a range of topics in news and politics mostly in part one of the show. We cherry pick news articles from our home states of North Dakota and North Carolina. We also cover topics on a national and global level. Part two of the show we decided we also wanted to talk about video games and traditional games because if we just talk about politics all the time we’ll be miserable.
